Liz - Severe Head Pain

Severe Head Pain Helped by Chiropractic & Acupuncture Specialist in Kansas City

16 April 2009

Chiropractors are all quacks! That was my thought and nothing was going to change it.

Until my eyes stopped working correctly, my head hurt so badly I could not move it and my hair was thinning (I am only 40).My head pain was so bad that in a moment of desperation I had my husband cut at least twelve inches off my hair.I thought for sure that was going to alleviate the pain.(Just for the record your hair is probably not what's making your head hurt). I had been evaluated by no less than eleven medical doctors (including three neurologists), spent two weeks in two different hospitals, had missed four weeks of work and was on more narcotics than I could count. The only thing I could eat was pudding.A very good friend of mine actually came to my house and left in tears because she was sure I was going to die.I was horribly sick with no help or diagnosis from the traditional medical establishment.

Another very good friend of mine told me that I needed to at least try alternative medicine. It was obvious that traditional medicine was not helping.I was so desperate I was willing to try anything (including dipping raw potatoes into vinegar and putting them on my temples - again this probably is not going to make your head stop hurting). My friend found the closest chiropractic office to my house, Baker Chiropractic.I remember that it was a very cold Monday in late February.

When I called the office assistant told me there were appointments available with other practitioners but recommended that if at all possible that I wait until Thursday to see Dr. Kristine.(At that time Dr. Kristine had been in practice for 6-8 years).I figured I could last for three additional days so I took the Thursday appointment.I am so thankful I waited.

My husband had to drive me to the appointment as I could barely walk across a room not to mention drive, I was sick not stupid.

As previously stated I really thought chiropractors were quacks so I thought I would just be wasting money but didn't know what else to do.

During my initial evaluation Dr. Kristine actually listened to everything I had experienced throughout the previous year(s), what my actual symptoms were then planned a drug-free course of treatment based on this information.

After just one session of acupuncture (not my favorite) and a chiropractic adjustment my pain level immediately began to reside and I had a renewed sense of hope.I really could not believe it.Dr. Kristine had already started giving me back my life. She performed a TLC (total lifestyle change) in me.It started with things as simple as changing the kind of shoes I wore to eating a healthier diet.

Within three weeks I was back to work and completely off all the medications that the traditional medical community had prescribed. (She does believes that there is a place with traditional medicine and she doesn't write-off all medicaldoctors and their treatments).

If you are contemplating Chiropractic treatment, for whatever reason, I know the personal care and attention you receive from Dr. Kristine will leave you feeling better. She really cares about people and wants to improve their over-all health and well-being.

There is no way I can, in words, express exactly how grateful I am to Dr. Kristine or how wrong I was about Chiropractic medicine. This is very difficult for me to do but I must admit that I no longer believe that all chiropractors are quacks.
